I’ve just signed up for a new MOOC, course H817 Openness and innovation in elearning run by Martin Weller, Professor of Educational Technology at the Open University UK. His blog http://nogoodreason.typepad.co.uk/no_good_reason/ has a recent post on the aims and outline of the course:

The course outline is as follows:

  • Week 1: Openness in education
  • Week 2: Open education resources
  • Week 3: Moving beyond OER
  • Week 4: MOOCs
  • Week 5: Pedagogy in open learning
  • Week 6: Operating in an open world
  • Week 7: Conclusion

I’ve tried a few other MOOCs in the past and haven’t really enjoyed them…hopefully this will be different…as a tribute to a previous post on Martin’s blog I’m trying to ‘stay positive’…. as The Hold Steady would say:
