Registration open for ‘Smart Devices for Learning #3 using smartphones, tablets and apps to enhance learning’ workshop.

Host: Manchester Metropolitan University

Location: New Business School

Date: Monday, 14 April 2014

Description: Building on the interest and success of the first (Sheffield Hallam University) and second (University of Huddersfield) MELSIG smart device special focus events, you will explore how smart technologies like Apple, Android and Windows smartphones and tablets are being used by students and staff to enhance learning. The aim of the day is to share and develop good practice in an important emerging field. The sessions being planned for the day will have a practical focus with opportunities for people to share their favourite apps and think about how this can enhance teaching and learning.

It is hoped that outputs from the day will contribute to a new MELSIG book on teaching and learning with smart devices.

The Media-Enhanced Learning Special Interest Group (MELSIG) is run by and targeted at post-compulsory academics, learning technologists and educational developers. It hosts inspiring and leading edge events on how digital media and technology is enhancing the academic and student experience.

Registration: Please register early for this free event. We could only accommodate half of those who registered for the first two events.(http://www.celt.mmu.ac.uk/cpd/conferences/melsig.php)
